I had an appointment scheduled for Monday, April 15, 2024 @ 10:40 am. A week prior, I spoke on the phone to a Rep. from Oak Street. I gave him my Insurance info. and he insisted on me giving him my Medicare card info. beforehand to be preapproved. Once I gave him all my information and he put me on hold for a second, he came back and said everything was okay, and my appointment was a go for Monday. I got to my appointment a little early, checked in and was told to have a seat. An hispanic man came up and asked me to come with him in an office up front and told me my appointment had been cancelled because they couldn't find my medicare account. And, also they had tried to call me. They couldn't find my name. But they have my husband's appointment under his name. I was very offended. He said it as if I didn't know my name. But it sounded like that was an excuse to give someone else my appointment time. I booked my appointment under my legal hyphenated last name (maiden name plus married name) that's on my medicare card, driver's license, insurance card, etc. and it went through medicare beforehand. I was livid. I went home and told my husband what happened and he decided he didn't want to be bothered with a messy environment and cancelled his appointment for later that day. I spoke with someone later that day on the phone and they knew immediately who that guy was. So, this guy must have done this before. If so, it's very unprofessional and is not a good look for this clinic.
