06.16.26 - I visited the Oak Street practice today in person and pleaded with the office mgr about my 20 or so calls to Oak Street Peoria for assistance through very challenging times. She was emotionless. As staff listened, they laughed and sneered, not at me, but at my complaints and 1 ☆ rating for its practice, as if my story was familiar from other patients. I left the Oak Street Peoria location and had a peaceful moment in prayer. God sent me an answer, I am here with you. I will not forsake you. Then, I went home and slept. I just awakened, and immediately called the Oak Street hotline at 10 pm and told them that I did not need their help any longer. God really is the only help I need. I will remain a patient on a distant basis, but will inform my insurance company of the poor treatment I received at Oak Street Peoria. It was God who closed the Oak Street door so that I would enter HIS. Blessings. 06.15.26 - Downgraded to 1☆ - My Exp With Jason Caldwaller & Oakstreet (Peoria) is like night and day from the facade of their commercials - I am in a very stressful HOA situation not of my doing - I could lose my home I am stressed and it is impacting my health. Oak St will not respond no matter how urgent I tell them it is or how many times I call. I'm simply trying to get an appointment with a social worker. Oak St (Peoria) has not been responsive. 06.12.26 - I downgraded Oak Street to 2☆. I was disillusioned by the commercials and new patient treatment. Now, Oak St and Dr. Jason Cadwallader don't appeal to me much. I am hating the whole practice now. They are behind tech-wise, don't follow through even after making repeated requests. In my opinion, Oak Street works well for older patients who adhere and primarily use prescription medicine as their 'Jesus in a pill'. I did not find much appreciation for my path, relying on prescriptions as the last resort, and instead placing greater emphasis on diet, nutrition, exercise, supplements, and holistic health management ...whole body, mind, and sprirt. I did not find my approach in their wheelhouse. I am quite disappointed with Oak Street and doctor Jason Cadwallader.03.03.26 - I was unfair to Dr. Jason Cadwallader at first. I was so excited by the Oak St Health commercials that I had very high expectations, especially since I have been dissatisfied with many previous doctors. The usually bone of contention is that I place diet, lifestyle changes, exercise, prayer, and meditation over taking a bunch of prescriptions. Well, I was unfair to Dr. Jason Cadwallader, at Oak Street because when I first started to see him, he wasn't readily available due to a foot injury. He was at the clinic on a more limited schedule, but still came in and hobbled around. That took dedication and I did not acknowledge that. Also, I missed Oak Street not having a portal for electronic records and communication. On a follow-up, I visited Oak Street Health on Peoria St a few days ago. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and smiles I received from everyone I met. I was offered complimentary coffee, as well. Dr. Cadwallader's assistant took dictation as I rambled on for nearly and hour. All three of us were engaged in conversation about my health. Dr. Jason Cadwallader was on top of my health! He browsed through my chart and was well advised on all of my health challenges and alternatives practices. He didnt criticize. He complimented me on my lab results, given my age. He was well-versed on my insurance company benefits and what they would likely preapprove. He didn't outright agree with me on everything. He educationed me. He was respectible. It was a real 1st class visit. I received a follow call the same day to schedule my next lab appointment and received the necessary paperwork for a referral. I left Oak Street Health feeling that I had a really good primary care MD, this time. The app, electronic records accessibility,and communication is forthcoming soon. Oak Street Health is the best choice for old geezers like me.
