Oak Street Health Receives Accreditation for Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Program
CHICAGO, IL — November 19, 2025 — Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health® (NYSE: CVS), today announced its New Graduate Nurse Practitioner (NP) Fellowship Program has been granted three years of accreditation by The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers, recognizing the Company’s excellence in preparing clinicians to deliver high-quality, value-based primary care for older adults.
Oak Street Health, a network of primary care centers for adults on Medicare, developed the program in collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN), a nationally recognized leader in NP education. The NP Fellowship in Adult Primary Care is a 12-month paid training program. Since its launch in September 2022, it has welcomed 88 fellows across 18 states, 31 cities and 75 clinics.
“Our mission of Rebuilding Healthcare as it Should Be starts with exceptional care through a team of highly skilled clinicians,” said Dr. Marisa Rogers, Chief Medical Officer at Oak Street Health. “Achieving accreditation from The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers validates our commitment to clinical excellence and ensures that fellows have the hands-on skills, support, and education needed to gain confidence as a provider and thrive in a career in value-based primary care.”
The Oak Street Health NP Fellowship program allows fellows to spend time building their own patient panel, learning from a multitude of preceptors, and engaging in advanced content that aims to build on graduate training. The robust curriculum, which covers topics such as value-based care, chronic disease management, working and leading interprofessional teams and professional development, enables fellows to become successful clinicians within the unique care model at Oak Street Health. After completing the 12-month program, fellows commit to at least one year of practice at Oak Street Health. About 84% of fellows who graduate continue to work at Oak Street Health for a second year and 74% stay beyond their second year.
“Oak Street Health has demonstrated a strong dedication to developing nurse practitioners who are well-prepared to meet the needs of aging populations,” said Kerry Bamrick, Executive Director of The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers. “Their NP Fellowship Program exemplifies the quality and rigor we look for when granting accreditation. We congratulate them on this achievement.”
With this recognition, Oak Street Health joins over 40 healthcare organizations nationwide that have earned The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers accreditation – marking an important milestone in strengthening the workforce of advanced practice providers in primary care.
